I’m proud and privileged to be a guest author this week on the FortuneBuilders blog where I wrote about the art of LISTENING in real estate. I won’t spend too much time here rehashing what I already wrote about, so just click this link to check out the full article. The gist of it, however, is that when you start building your successful business flipping houses and making lots of cash, it’s natural to want to tell everyone under the sun.
Unfortunately, this understandable enthusiasm can sometimes blow someone out of the water and get in the way of actually doing some deals. Imagine meeting with a home seller and you keep emphasizing how they won’t have to pay any agent fees but what they really need is someone to understand how hard the mortgage payments have been, the expensive repairs and that the home’s been in the family for generations. Listening allows us to understand and, therefore, communicate effectively and solve someone’s needs and wants.
So while you should definitely be excited about getting into a program as dynamic and successful as FortuneBuilders Mastery, remember that quite often the true winners are those remember to talk less and listen more. Just a little nugget I learned in the FB real estate coaching program (one of many). In fact, I think we can all agree that many people could probably use some practice listening, whether in real estate or not! It’s just one of those life lessons that happens to be very powerful in the business world. It’s been said that the most powerful person in a board room is the one who speaks the least. Hmmm….
Anyway, go check out the full article and please post some feedback! And if you want to get cracking’ on your own ridiculously successful real estate endeavor, fill in the form on the right to have someone from FortuneBuilders call you!
